Heart receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart were honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Both sisters were on hand for the unveiling of their plaque — the 2,481st along the famed sidewalk.

“We’re so delighted to be here today taking some credit. Credit for all the long, hard work we do to bring a few good songs into the world,” said Nancy Wilson.

The duo have been making hits for more than 35 years, topping charts though the 80s and 90s with songs like Alone, Barracuda, and What About Love.  They have sold more than 35 million albums, sold out arenas worldwide, and found their way into the soundtrack of American life through radio, motion pictures, and TV.

Nancy Wilson said that it’s a very special moment when a song can impact life.

“Songs are truly messengers of love. And it’s really amazing…when the message gets through.”

Heart is still busy at work.  The group recently released their first-ever box set, Strange Euphoria, on June 5 and are preparing for the release of their next studio album, Fanatic on Oct. 2.
