Maple Leaf Gardens artifacts to be auctioned off

No one knows how long it will be before the Leafs once again hoist the Stanley Cup overhead, but you can own a piece of the team’s past glory through an upcoming online auction of artifacts from Maple Leaf Gardens.
Over 100 items will be up for grabs from the legendary address of the former hockey shrine at 60 Carlton St., which is now the home of Ryerson’s new athletic centre.
The highest bidders could walk away with the team’s original Stanley Cup banners, retired number banners or original framed photos from the dressing room and hallways.
You can even snag the bench from the sin bin, or the toilet from the Leafs locker room.
The public online auction begins on Oct. 11 at www.frozenpond.com and ends Nov. 14.
