Billy Talent announce free show for Tuesday at Horseshoe

Billy Talent, the Toronto-area band known for playing the Air Canada Centre and Molson Canadian Amphitheatre, announced a surprise show for Tuesday night at Queen Street rock venue Horseshoe Tavern.

Cost of the show: free.

“Growing up and playing every club in the city, the Horseshoe Tavern was the ultimate place to play in Toronto,” lead singer Ben Kowalewicz wrote on the band’s Facebook page.

“It has so much history that as soon as you walk in you feel something special and you know that so many amazing and magical moments have happened there. We ourselves have had some historical moments there from playing our own shows to seeing bands like Green Day and the Foo Fighters play,” he added.

“First come first serve. It is twice as special for us as it is the 65th Anniversary of the Shoe being open. There are some other great bands on the bill and we promise it will be a very special night!”

The award-winning band recently released their fourth studio album, Dead Silence.

Doors will open at 8:30 p.m., with Billy Talent playing at 11:15 p.m.
