Remembrance Day events in Toronto & across Ontario

The federal, provincial and municipal governments are honouring Canadian veterans with activities and events throughout Veterans’ Week until Nov. 11.

There will be Remembrance Day ceremonies on Parliament Hill, Queen’s Park and Old City Hall on Sunday starting at 10:45 a.m.

1st Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon in Barrie

Windjammers: In Remembrance in Brampton

Details: On Saturday, November 10th, 2012 at 10:30AM Leacock Care Centre will hold their annual Remembrance Day Service. The ceremony includes the placing of a poppy wreath, (OPP) bag pipes, (OPP) trumpeter – the last post and reveille. This year our 12 resident veterans are fewer in number. They appreciate the care and consideration that is always a part of this ceremony (usually held on November 11th). The Ghosts of Aisne – Remembering Canadians in WWI in Peterborough

Details: Peterborough Theatre Guild,in partnership with the Collective of Artist for Remembrance and Education CARE will stage the original WWI play The Ghosts of Aisne – Remembering Canadians in WWI. The play follows a group of soldiers in the trenches in the hours leading up to the gas attach at Ypres where the First Canadian Division heroically held the line.
CARE will be inviting students from the Kawartha Pine Ridge School Board to attend a presentation of the play and will providing educational material.

Afghanistan Repatriation Memorial in Trenton

Details: The official unveiling and dedication of the Afghanistan Repatriation Memorial will take place at Bain Park.
