Burlington band Walk Off The Earth going for YouTube gold with Taylor Swift cover

Burlington band Walk Off the Earth is going for YouTube gold in 2013, this time with a cover of Taylor Swift’s hit I Knew You Were Trouble.
Last year, the band’s cover of Gotye’s Somebody That I Used to Know was the second most-popular video on the social networking site, garnering over 143 million hits. It was only beat out by Psy’s Gangnam Style.
The band, including Joel Cassady, Sarah Blackwood, Gianni Luminati, Marshall and Taylor, teamed up with a cappella group KRNFX for a beatbox version of Swift’s song.
It was released on Tuesday morning and by Thursday, had racked up 807,000 plays. All of the sounds in the video are made by the singers themselves – there are no instruments used.

For their Gotye cover, all five band members played the song using just one guitar. The video racked up well over 35 million views in under 2 weeks.
