A man convicted of stabbing a TTC bus driver over a fare dispute will be sentenced on Friday.
Wei Yang tried to board a bus with an invalid transfer on Sept. 17, 2010. After arguing with the driver, Yang stabbed him in the hand and thigh.
The incident happened near Brimley Road and Steeles Avenue.
Yang was originally charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.
The Toronto Transit Commission said that on average, two TTC employees are assaulted every day. The assaults range from punching, slapping and spitting, to threats of physical harm or death.
