Joffrey Lupul took part in his first full practice with the Toronto Maple Leafs since breaking his forearm on Jan. 23.
“Let’s see how long he stays out,” Fan590’s David Alter tweeted on Sunday.
Less than three minutes later, Alter had his answer: The 29-year-old was off the ice.
“Looks like he’s still a long way from a return,” Alter said.
Coming off of an impressive 67-point campaign last season, Lupul was scoreless through three games this season before falling to injury.
He was hit by a shot in the second period of the Leafs’ 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins just over a month ago.
As a result of the injury, the Leafs recalled winger Matt Frattin from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.
Last season, Frattin played 56 games with the Maple Leafs registering eight goals and 15 points.
