Good Samaritan helps Etobicoke stabbing victim

A Good Samaritan came to the aid of a young man who was stabbed in Etobicoke on Monday afternoon, possibly saving the teen’s life.

The 17 year old was knifed in the neck on Albion Road, near Islington Avenue and Elmhurst Drive, just after 5 p.m.

“There was a witness who was at the bus stop who made the 911 call,” Toronto police Det. Kevin Secore told CityNews. “The good citizen that he was, he stayed with our victim until ambulance and police arrived.”

The teen was rushed to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Witness Ahsan Baig said the victim was in shock after the incident.

“He was just sitting there holding the wound when the cops came. The guy was just standing there. He didn’t know what to do. He was shocked,” Baig said.

Police say the stabbing may be gang-related. They are still searching for a suspect.
