Hamilton police find meth lab in car

A Hamilton police officer suffered minor burns after a suspicious car in a park turned out to be a meth lab.
Around 6:30 p.m. police patrolling Oak Knoll Park on Mountain Brow Boulevard approached the vehicle.
Police say the 37-year-old occupant had a powder-like substance on him.
Another police officer, who was previously a drug officer, arrived on scene and noticed the precursors of a meth lab inside the vehicle.
Police say Hazmat and Hamilton fire were contacted when it was determined that the chemicals inside the vehicle were extremely volatile and there was chance of an explosion.
The arresting officer suffered minor burns to his hands and was transported to hospital for treatment.
The suspect was arrested and transported to hospital for tests due to his exposure to the chemicals.
