Hamilton police still searching for missing man

Police are still searching for a 32-year-old Hamilton man in a case full of unusual circumstances.

Officers from Brantford police, OPP, and CN police focused their search in an industrial area near the Hwy. 403 in Brantford.

“Canine units have been going through the area with marked officers. There’s a lot of tall grass and going through garbage cans as well,” Ashton Paytis from blackburnnews.com told 680News.

Police called off the search Friday night as it became too dark they continue to look for evidence.

Police said Tim Bosma was last seen on Monday, leaving his Ancaster home with two men who were test-driving his truck he was selling on Kijiji and Auto Trader.

His wife said Bosma told her the two men were from the Toronto area. They appeared on foot.

Police also said they found Bosma’s cell phone in an industrial area of west Brantford.

And Bosma’s truck was spotted in downtown Brantford around 10:10 p.m. on Monday.

Investigators are looking at probing this sighting further and they’re looking for surveillance video from area businesses.

It turns out there was a similar incident in Toronto the day before. There was a meeting in Etobicoke, also involving the possible sale of a black Dodge Ram pick-up truck. It also involved two men who arrived for the meeting in an industrial area on foot. Hamilton police said the Toronto-area man was able to help police with a description of one of the men.

Detective sergeant Matt Kavanaugh said there’s one thing that stands out.

“On one of his wrists, he wasn’t sure if it was left or right, where a person wars a watch was the word ambition. There was a box tattooed framing the outside of the word ‘ambition,'” Kavanaugh said.

Sharlene Bosma watched her husband leave his home with those two men around 9:20 p.m.

She made a very emotional plea for his safe return.

“It was just a truck. It is just a truck. You don’t need him. But I do. And our daughter needs her daddy back,” she said.

Police are searching for two suspects.

The first is in his mid-20s, white, 6’1-6’2, 170-180 lbs, light to medium short brown hair, unshaven. He was wearing blue jeans, long sleeve orange shirt and running shoes.

The second man is also white, in his early to mid 20s, 5’9-5’10″, small to medium build, dark hair. He was wearing a red hooded sweater and had a hood over his head.

They were last seen in Bosma’s truck, a black 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup with the Ontario licence plate 726 7ZW.

Hamilton police have set up a tip line specifically for this case for anyone with information.

It’s 905-546-2100.

Police also said that they’ve not been able to determine any kind of motive for Bosma’s disappearance.
