Worker dies after head caught in machine at Brantford bottle cap factory

BRANTFORD, Ont. – The provincial Ministry of Labour is investigating following the death of an employee at a Brantford bottle cap factory.

The ministry says an employee’s head was caught in a machine.

Ministry spokesman Matt Blajer says the worker at the Massilly North America Inc. plant was killed around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to Blajer, the staffer — whose age and gender have not been released — was found dead at the scene.

Police say no one else was injured in the incident, which is being handled by the ministry and the coroner’s office.

Police say they are not conducting a criminal investigation into the employee’s death.

Massilly manufactures caps and closures for food containers and tins, and also sells capping machinery.
