Road, TTC closures in Toronto

It’s that time of the year again, when weekend events and construction take over Toronto, leading to road closures across the city.

680News will have an updated list each week, including subway closures due to TTC work.

Weekend events

Big on Bloor Festival (Saturday-Sunday closure)

Bloor St. will be closed in both directions, between Dufferin St. and Lansdowne Ave., from 9 a.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday. Alternative routes are College St. and St. Clair Ave.

Fusion of Taste (Saturday-Sunday closure)

Albion Rd. will be closed between Islington Ave. and Thistledown Blvd., from 6 a.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday. The 73C Royal York TTC bus will be on diversion.

Toronto Triathlon Festival (Sunday closure)

The eastbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway will be closed between the Humber River and Carlaw Ave., and the northbound lanes of the Don Valley Parkway will be closed between the Gardiner Expressway and Eglinton Ave., from 2 a.m. until noon.

Youth Day Event (Sunday closure)

Yonge St. will be closed between Queen and Dundas streets from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Alternative routes are Bay and Church streets.

Gardiner Expressway repair work

Two eastbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway, from Jarvis Street to the Don Roadway, are scheduled to be closed from July 24 to Dec. 1.

TTC closures

The TTC has a scheduled subway closure on the Yonge-University-Spadina line this weekend due to rail installation.

Subways won’t be running between St. Clair West and St. George stations starting 12:01 a.m. Saturday. Subway service will resume at 6 a.m. Monday.
