Justin Bieber thrills ACC crowd in first of 2 shows

Justin Bieber rocked the Air Canada Centre Thursday night for the first of two back-to-back shows in the Stratford star’s Believe tour.

Thousands of Beliebers packed the venue for the pop star’s Toronto tour stop.

Throngs of teenage girls have been staking out the Hazelton Hotel in Yorkville where he is staying. He rewarded fans with a glimpse of his mug pressed against his tour bus window on Wednesday.

Lately, the 19-year-old has been in the headlines more for his unsavoury ways than his music.

A video emerged earlier this month of the singer urinating in a mop bucket in a New York nightclub and spraying a photo of former U.S. president Bill Clinton with cleaning fluid.

And in March, Bieber got in an altercation with London paparazzi; L.A. police said they were investigating him for battery; and German customs seized his pet monkey because the singer did not have the papers to travel with it.

But Beliebers are not deterred by the headlines.

Why does this teen love Bieber?

“He’s a Canadian boy making great music that you can dance to and that’s all you can ask for,” one fan told 680News ahead of the concert.

She says the negative headlines don’t matter.

“He’s very talented, he’s a great artist, he puts on a good show so that’s all I focus on.”

Another teen says she is inspired by Bieber’s life and success.

“It’s his life story. The way he grew up and the way he is just giving us all inspiration to become who we want to be and to never say never.”

Bieber will perform at the ACC on Friday.
