Fire destroys house under construction in Scarborough

A house under construction in Scarborough was destroyed in a fire on Thursday.
At its peak, 12 trucks and 45 firefighters were required to fight the flames, Toronto Fire Capt. Mike Strapko told CityNews.
The fire began on Alton Towers Circle, near McCowan Road and Steeles Avenue, around 12:20 p.m.
No one was injured.
It’s not yet known how the fire began but investigators are probing welding as a possible cause.
The cost of the damage is not yet known.
