Public input sought on future of Gardiner east

The city wants to hear from its residents on the future of the eastbound Gardiner Expressway.

Waterfront Toronto and city officials have started an environmental assessment on the eastbound lanes of the Gardiner between Jarvis and Leslie streets.

Four options are being considered:

  • Maintain the expressway
  • Improve the area around the Gardiner
  • Replace the roadway with another expressway
  • Remove the Gardiner and build a new boulevard

The city said public input is critical.

Torontonians can voice their opinions at a meeting on Oct. 16 at the Toronto Reference Library.
