Karen Stintz to run for mayor in 2014

They have battled over transit and now TTC Chair Karen Stintz will go head-to-head against Mayor Rob Ford for the job of running the city.
Stintz confirmed her intent to run for mayor of Toronto in the 2014 municipal election on Saturday evening.
This comes just one day after Ford confirmed his re-election slogan would be “Ford More Years.”
Stintz said she wanted to reserve sharing any more details on her campaign for now.
She is not the first person to announce her intent to run in the mayoral election. Businessman and former councillor David Soknacki announced in September he would run.
“I welcome Karen to the race. She’s a hardworking councillor,” he told 680News. “Yet I believe my skills in both my own business and at council will serve me well as mayor.
“I hope to bring the two sides together — or the many sides together actually — with respect to our great city. I’ve been chatting with friends and former colleagues from council and have the impression that people say we have a great city but it can be better.”
Stintz was appointed chair of the TTC after the last municipal election in 2010.
