Toronto police have charged a man with arson after two fires broke out in the same apartment building.
Firefighters were called to a high-rise building on Heath Street, near Spadina Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West, twice in a four-hour period.
The first fire was set around 9 p.m. Wednesday and quickly extinguished. Officers allege the same man returned and set a second fire around 1:15 a.m. on Thursday. The second fire was also quickly knocked down.
Both fires were allegedly set in the same apartment, one in the bedroom and one in the living room.
The accused was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation and was arrested in hospital.
No other injuries were reported and the building was not evacuated.
