Kimmel tells Ford L.A. ‘loves him,’ shows video promoting Toronto

Jimmy Kimmel told Mayor Rob Ford that Los Angeles loved him and showed a tongue-in-cheek video promoting Toronto during his late-night talk show on Tuesday.
Kimmel opened his monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with a reference to Monday’s show, where Ford made an appearance.
Kimmel said it wasn’t his intention to upset Ford.
“It seemed like we were having fun,” Kimmel said.
“Then, after, the show, apparently he was upset. Why, I’m not exactly sure. I asked him about drinking and smoking crack — what were we supposed to talk about, his other hobbies?”
Ford — and his brother Coun. Doug Ford — spoke about the visit at City Hall on Tuesday. Doug Ford called the interview scripted, while Rob Ford said that though he went into “a lion’s den,” he held his own and his only regret was not having more time to promote Toronto.
“I love the people in L.A.,” Ford added.
“We love you too. In fact we might even be in love with you, Mayor Ford,” Kimmel responded.
