Sentencing submissions got underway Wednesday in the deadly Sunrise Propane explosion after the company, and two directors, Shay Ben-Moshe and Valery Belahov, were found guilty in June of nine provincial offences.
The submissions will continue on Oct 27 and 31st.
The early-morning blast on August 10, 2008 killed employee Parminder Saini, 25. Firefighter Bob Leek, 55, suffered a heart attack after responding to the emergency on his day off.
The blast caused millions in property damage in Toronto’s Downsview community and forced thousands from their homes. The province shuttered all three of Sunrise’s facilities following the explosion.
