Toronto Waterfront Marathon: road closures, route map & other info

Runners and walkers laced up for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sunday, with participants taking part in the full marathon, half-marathon, and the 5K run/walk.
Around 26,000 people were expected to take part in the three events.
The full marathon started at 8:45 a.m. on University Avenue between Dundas and Queen streets, heading along Bloor and Bathurst streets to Fork York Boulevard, and then to Lake Shore Boulevard, as well as other roadways including Cherry Street, Eastern Avenue, Front Street, and Wellington Street East. It then continues on Bay Street and finishes north of Queen.
The half marathon also began at 8:45 a.m. on University and travels along Bloor to Fort York and Lake Shore, but then continues to Lower Simcoe and Harbour streets to Bay and finishes north of Queen.
The 5K run/walk started at 8 a.m. at Lake Shore, west of Ontario Drive, headed along Bay and also finished near Queen.

Several road closures will be in effect as well starting on Saturday, ahead of Sunday’s races.
Saturday closures
- Bay will be closed from Queen to Dundas streets from noon on Saturday to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Bay, from Dundas to Lake Shore, will be closed on Sunday only.
Sunday closures
Closures will be in place from 4 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the area bounded by Bloor, Victoria Park Avenue, Lake Shore and Windermere Avenue.
- University, from Dundas to Front, will be closed from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Lake Shore, from the Don Roadway to Windermere, will be closed from 5 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Lake Shore, from Coxwell to Woodbine, will be closed from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The following streets will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
- Queen from Woodbine to Beech avenues
- Eastern from Kingston Road to Jarvis Street
The following streets will be closed from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.:
- University from Dundas to College Street
- Queen’s Park Crescent from College to Bloor
- Bloor from Bay to Bathurst
- Bathurst, from Bloor to Lake Shore
The following streets will be closed from 7 a.m., until 2:30 a.m.:
- Queen’s Quay from Bay to Parliament Street

TTC buses and streetcars will be diverting in the area. Click here for a list of the impacted routes.
For those who are taking the TTC to the event, subway service starts at 9 a.m. on Sunday, and there is a subway closure to contend with this weekend.
Subways won’t be running between Bloor-Yonge and Eglinton stations on Line 1 (Yonge-University-Spadina) on Saturday and Sunday due to signal upgrades. Regular service resumes at 6 a.m. on Monday.
The closure is also scheduled for the Nov. 1-2 and Nov. 8-9 weekends.
