John Hinnen honoured at Ontario Association of Broadcasters gala

John Hinnen, former VP of News for Rogers Media Television and Radio, was honoured on Thursday night by the Ontario Association of Broadcasters (OAB).
Hinnen, who spent more than 20 years at the helm of 680News, was inducted into the Ontario Hall of Fame at the OAB Gala Awards Dinner
He recently retired after four decades with Rogers.
“For me, 680News has been just one incredible ride. As the person who programmed the station from day one, and to see it rise to the number one station in Canada, has been nothing but a dream come true,” he said.
Hinnen was instrumental in transforming music station CFTR into 680News — Canada’s first all-news radio station.
