Coroner rules Robin Williams’ death a suicide

The coroner in Marin County, California has officially ruled the death of Robin Williams a suicide.

There was no alcohol or illegal drugs involved, the coroner’s office said in a statement released on Friday.

Williams was found dead in his Northern California home on Aug. 11 from what investigators suspected was a suicide by hanging.

Investigators believe the actor used a belt to hang himself from a bedroom door.

Williams was sober at the time of his death but was struggling with depression, anxiety and the early stages of Parkinson’s disease, his widow said in a statement in August.
