Reports of a burning smell and screams brought firefighters to an apartment tower on Danforth Avenue on Tuesday morning.
When they knocked down the door of a 15th floor unit at 2575 Danforth Ave. near Main Street, they found the fire — and a grow-op.
The calls came in just before 5 a.m.
Police say the hydro in the unit had been tampered with.
The scene has been taped off while police investigate.
