Car fire shuts down portion of WB Hwy. 401 at Renforth

A car burst into flames after a multi-vehicle collision in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 at Renforth Drive on Wednesday morning.
All express lanes and the left collector lane were blocked while crews worked to douse the flames and clear the debris.
The lanes have since reopened.
One person was sent to hospital with minor injuries.
A tractor trailer, which was not involved in the accident, was blocking lanes. It is unclear whether police asked the driver to park the rig in this position.
Fire crews salted the ground where water was used to put out the flames, but are still warning drivers to be careful of any freezing, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said.
