Rob Ford has two new tumours on his bladder, his brother Doug Ford told CityNews on Thursday.
One is five centimeters and the other is seven centimeters, Doug said.
The former Toronto mayor and current city councillor has been admitted to Mount Sinai Hospital and is undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
Doug says he’ll be in hospital for the next five days, and will likely be back for more rounds of chemo after that.
Ford announced that he had a new tumour on his bladder on Oct. 28.
He had been experiencing abdominal pain recently which was what prompted the new examinations and testing by his medical team.
Ford said he wouldn’t let his setback stop him from serving his constituents. In a release, he said he wanted to let Torontonians know that he will continue to provide assistance however possible and to contact his office or call him at home with any concerns.
His medical team does not have definitive test results indicating if there is any organ involvement.
In September 2014, Ford was diagnosed with malignant liposarcoma and had a number of rounds of chemotherapy before a 10-hour operation to remove the tumour in his abdomen on May 11.
Following the operation he recovered enough to return to work in July.
