A man has been sentenced to 87 days in jail for threatening a TTC operator with a knife.
The incident happened on Dec. 29 last year, the TTC said in a release.
The TTC said a man was smoking a cigarette and drinking alcohol on the subway platform at Bloor-Yonge Station when a TTC operator asked him to leave.
The man pulled a knife from his backpack and was arrested while he was leaving the station.
Tyrell Brown, 23, pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon.
As part of his sentence, Brown has also been placed on probation for 12 months.
According to the TTC, on average, one of its employees is assaulted every day, ranging from punching, slapping and spitting, to threats of physical harm or death.
