One airlifted to hospital after 407 crash

By News Staff

A serious two vehicle crash shut down a section of the westbound Highway 407 from Highway 410 to Hurontario for several hours on Thursday.

The OPP said it appears a driver merging onto the Highway 407 westbound lost control of the vehicle and crashed into another vehicle.

A male had to be extracted from the vehicle by fire officials.

He was then airlifted to a Toronto hospital with severe injuries.

There has been no word on any other injuries.

The lanes reopened around 6:30 p.m.
