Ghomeshi lawyer describes trial as “exhausting and devastating”

Marie Henein, the high-profile defence lawyer of Jian Ghomeshi, released a statement yesterday following the not-guilty verdict.
In it she states her client was rightly acquitted based on evidence heard in court, despite any scrutiny and pressure from the public.
“This has been a very long, exhausting and devastating 16 months for Mr. Ghomeshi,” she writes.
Henein says Ghomeshi will spend time with family and take time to recover from the trial.
