Sessions in the House of Commons are usually akin to watching paint dry. But the paint was practically peeling off the walls after a rare flourish of physicality and profanity involving Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday.
Trudeau has since vehemently apologized several times for pulling Conservative whip Gord Brown through a gaggle of New Democrat MPs like an overbearing mom. The MPs appeared to be impeding Brown’s path during a vote on doctor-assisted death.
While ushering Brown through the crowd, Trudeau’s elbow came in contact with the chest of NDP MP Ruth Ellen Brosseau.
The Prime Minister was also quoted as saying “get the f**k out of the way,” before being confronted by enraged NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair who bellowed “What kind of man elbows a woman?”

For the first time during his early tenure, Trudeau’s all-too-perfect sheen appears to have been compromised.
But has it changed your opinion of our Prime Minister?
Reaction online has been mixed.
Many felt the NDP should be apologizing.
On the CityNews Facebook page, Sandra Ryan admits Trudeau didn’t make the “smartest play” but adds, “If anyone was in the wrong, it was those blocking the vote. After seeing the video, I think (Trudeau) has more chutzpah than we give him credit for.”
Jim Eric also believes several parties were complicit in the embarrassing moment.
“I think there was a lot of childish behaviour shown in that video and when he attempted to apologize it sounded like an out of control kindergarten room. The shove looked more like an accidental bump.”
Terry Aresnault said his opinion of Trudeau hasn’t changed, he still sees him as a “spoiled, entitled, drama queen! This certainly won’t be his first or last temper tantrum!”
And while Ethel Davey admits the situation has “knocked the cocky look off his face,” she thinks it’s time to move on. “I think he is sorry and embarrassed at the same time. Now enough of it and get on with governing.”
