Personal support worker facing more charges of sex assault on elderly patients

A personal support worker who was charged with sexual assault after an alleged attack on an elderly patient in December 2015 is now facing additional charges involving multiple patients.
Police allege Soja Zadeh, 51, of Newmarket, sexually assaulted several elderly women he cared for at Mackenzie Health hospital in Richmond Hill and at a senior’s apartment complex in Aurora.
He was initially arrested and charged in January 2016. The alleged victim in that case was an 88-year-old woman.
Police say more alleged victims came forward after Zadeh’s initial arrest.
“After his arrest on January 31, 2016, investigators released a picture of the accused and as a result two additional victims…came forward,” York Regional Police said in a release.
Zadeh turned himself in to police on Tuesday and is now facing five additional counts of sexual assault and one count of assault.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
Zadeh was held in custody pending a court appearance on Tuesday.
