A Kensington Market butcher has proven he’s as sharp with his tongue as he is with a cleaver, unleashing a furious tirade at the thief who broke into his shop on Sunday night and made off with a safe full of cash.
“Have fun buying drugs and gas for your crappy van (that we have on video), you basement-dwelling, mouth-breathing, grade six-failing, hopeless loser,” Peter Sanagan, owner of Sanagan’s Meat Locker, wrote on his business’s Facebook page.
Sanagan’s attempt to make verbal minced meat out of the thief may have came across as funny, but he stresses it’s no laughing matter.
“There’s a special place in hell for anyone who thinks it’s ok to steal money from a small family business that deals with other small family businesses, and tries to support a staff of 40,” he wrote.
Sanagan says the thief, who remains at large, broke into his popular meat shop at 176 Baldwin Street on Sunday night, making off with the safe containing a busy weekend’s worth of cash.
Toronto police tell CityNews.ca an investigation is ongoing and they have obtained some video evidence.
Sanagan hopes it leads to an arrest
“I feel sorry for your family, who at some point maybe thought you were worth something,” he concluded. “Well sorry to break it to you and your kin, but you’re worthless.”
