Peel police are investigating after a 15-year-old Toronto boy was shot in a vehicle in Brampton earlier this week.

The shooting happened just before 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the parking lot of a motel in the Queen Street East and Kennedy Road area.

Police say the boy was in a vehicle with friends when three people approached, there was an exchange of words, and one of the suspects took out a handgun and shot the teen.

The victim was driven to a local hospital and later transferred to a trauma centre in Toronto, where he remains in stable condition.

Police say they’re seeking the public’s assistance in identifying three suspects in the shooting.

The first suspect is male, 20 years old, about five-feet six-inches tall with a thin build and brown afro-style hair.

The second suspect is male, black, 18 years old, about five-feet five-inches tall with a medium build and braided collar-length hair.

The third suspect is male, black, 21 years old, and has a thin build with a dark complexion.

Police say the suspects fled in a dark-coloured, four-door car.

Investigators caution the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who spots the suspects should not approach them but contact police immediately.

Police would also like to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident.
