A missing boy from Dundas was found dead after a ground search in the area of Hamilton, police say.

Finnigan Danne, 12, was found approximately 30 minutes after an Amber Alert was issued at 3 p.m. The boy was missing since Saturday morning and there were concerns because he suffers from a neuromuscular disorder and has limited mobility without a wheelchair.

“Hamilton Police conducted a ground search led by the Service’s Public Order Unit utilizing all resources, including the Mounted Unit, ATVs and Canine in this investigation,” police said in a statement.

The coroner also attended the scene at Sullivan’s Lane.

No details about the circumstances of his death have been released at this time.

A post mortem has been scheduled and Hamilton Police will continue to investigate.
