Toronto police are expected to provide an update Friday on their investigation into the murder of a 27-year-old man in the city’s east end last December.

Yusef Hagi Ahmed, along with another male and a female, were found with gunshot wounds on Markham Road at Cougar Court, near Eglinton Avenue East, around 12:45 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2016.

Ahmed was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

The two other people’s injuries were not life-threatening. Police have not released their ages.

At the time, police said they were looking for a suspect around 20 years old with a light complexion and wearing dark clothing.

A restaurant at a strip mall in the area had its windows shot out but it’s not known if the shooting happened there.
