Police say escaped rescue dog may have been stolen

Toronto police say they believe a dog that escaped from her leash near Greenwood Avenue and Gerrard Street was stolen.

The theft allegedly happened around noon on April 14.

Mary, the Jack Russell Terrier, got free of her leash around noon on April 14 and was picked up by a woman driving a white Toyota some two kilometres away in the Pape and Danforth area.

Police say Mary is a rescue dog and will run if chased.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
