A woman is in critical condition due to an early-morning crash on Highway 401 east of Dufferin Street.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The vehicle drove into a construction area and crashed into the back of a parked excavator.
“This is a very critical situation here,” OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt explained.
“The vehicle somehow entered a construction area and went … at pretty high speed, right into the back of parked construction equipment.”
All eastbound collector lanes of the 401 have been closed east of Dufferin Street to Avenue Road.
