By News Staff

Hamilton police say they found a drug processing plant and seized $1.5 million worth of drugs during a raid on an illegal cannabis dispensary in the city.

Police searched the Cannabis Canada Dispensary on Friday and charged five people connected with the dispensary under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

During the search, police found a processing plant for drugs in the adjacent unit.

After obtaining a second search warrant they seized “various machines used for making marijuana shatter, rolling machines, vacuums and other items used in drug trafficking” from the unit. They also seized a large amount of processed marijuana, THC-based products and oils from both units.

Three women and one man from Hamilton as well as another man from Niagara Falls are facing a number of charges related to marijuana trafficking.

All the accused were released on a promise to appear in court on future dates.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Hamilton police or Crime Stoppers.
