Instagram video shows person on top of GO train, Metrolinx investigating

By News Staff

Metrolinx transit safety officers are investigating after a video was posted on Instagram seemingly showing a person sitting atop a GO train.

The video was shared by Instagram account @6ixbuzztv with the caption “That GO train s*** too damn expensive”

Metrolinx spokeswoman Anne Marie Aikins posted a screenshot of the video on Twitter Sunday. She said that transit safety officers are taking the “incredibly dangerous and illegal stunt” very seriously.

The video has not been verified by CityNews at this time.

In February, a 20-year-old York University student pulled a similar stunt and posted a video of himself hitching a ride on the back of  a TTC subway on Instagram.

The unidentified man said he was inspired by a video he saw of people performing a similar stunt on the New York subway, but also admitted it was very reckless.

“I don’t want people seeing the video and thinking it’s OK to do what I did,” he told CityNews at the time. “It was a drunken moment.”

The TTC called it the “dumbest” and most dangerous stunt ever and threatened to press charges.
