Peel police say three suspects are in custody following a shooting in Mississauga on Sunday evening.

Officers responded to a call for a shooting in the Derry and Mclaughlin Roads area around 8 p.m.

Peel police tell CityNews the incident occurred earlier in the evening and the 22-year-old male victim left the area and went to a residence.

A friend of the victim called 9-1-1 from the residence. The man was taken to hospital with a single gunshot wound, in non-life threatening condition.

Police said they were looking for three suspects between 20 to 25 years old who were seen on the southeast corner of the intersection before 8 p.m.

One suspect is described as a black male, six-feet-two inches tall, wearing a white hoodie. The other two suspects are described as brown males.

Shortly before midnight, Peel police said all three suspects were in custody.

No word on charges at this time.
