Man critically injured in 1 of 2 shootings on Christmas Day

A man in his 40s is in critical condition after a shooting in Scarborough late Tuesday night.

It happened around 11:40 p.m. at an apartment building at Sheppard Avenue East and Kennedy Road.

Officers said they found a man with gunshot wounds outside one of the units.

The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released any information about suspects.

About an hour earlier, around 10:30 p.m., a man was shot near Mayfield and McLaughlin roads in Brampton.

Paramedics took him to hospital, and he is expected to survive.

The suspects were reportedly seen fleeing in a dark-coloured sedan.
