Peel police are looking for a Brampton resident wanted for numerous offences including sexual assault.
Police say the charges stem from an incident on Dec. 3, 2018, when the suspect and victim were at a home in Brampton in the early hours of the morning.
When the victim attempted to leave, the suspect reportedly prevented the victim from doing so. Police say the suspect then assaulted the victim over the next several hours. The victim was allowed to leave later on in the evening.
Police say the victim and suspect are known to each other.
The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Latisha Edwards of Brampton and is charged with forcible confinement, assault and sexual assault. Investigators say Edwards is “actively evading police.”
A photo of the suspect has been released and anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
