Three-alarm fire breaks out in North York industrial building

By News Staff

Toronto Fire Services worked to put out a three-alarm blaze in an industrial building in North York on Tuesday night.

Fire services responded to a call around 7 p.m. in the Bakersfield Street and Ashwarren Road area with 18 fire trucks and 75 firefighters.

A firefighter on scene said the building houses a lawyer’s office and roofing supplies are stored in the back.

The fire reportedly spread through the roof and some parts of the structure may be compromised.

The main body of the fire was knocked down within two hours. Salt trucks were called in to assist with the ice build up following the use of several fire hoses to douse the flames.

No injuries were reported.
