Trainer attacked by elephant at African Lion Safari

A trainer at a Southern Ontario animal park has been attacked and injured by an elephant, Hamilton police said Friday.

Police said the incident occurred at African Lion Safari in the Hamilton area.

The trainer was feeding the elephant when he was attacked, police said.

The trainer, a man in his 30s, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The Ministry of Labour has been contacted and are investigating the incident, police said.

Police have not released the condition of the trainer.
