Man, 73, charged with sexual assault of girl near Oakville elementary school

Halton police have charged a man in connection with the sexual assault of a girl in broad daylight near an Oakville elementary school.

It’s believe to have happened around 12 p.m. on June 18 on a trail north of McCraney Street near Gaetan Gervais Elementary School.

Police say the accused approached the girl and repeatedly said “money” – before allegedly grabbing her and touching her inappropriately.

73-year-old Resham Singh Kooner of Oakville was arrested at his home on Wednesday and has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.
