1 dead in multi-vehicle crash on Highway 407 in Durham

One person is dead following a serious crash on Highway 407 in Durham.
OPP say a car travelling eastbound crossed the centre median and ended up in the westbound lanes and was struck by another vehicle around 8 p.m Friday.
A man in his 20s who was a passenger in the eastbound car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four other people have been taken to hospital, however, no word on the extent of their injuries.
Highway 407 was closed in both directions between Brock Road and Lakeridge Road for several hours for the investigation as was the Highway 412 northbound ramp to Highway 407 west.
