Elderly man dead after being found with ‘obvious signs of trauma’ in Oakville: police

An elderly man is dead after being found with what Halton Regional Police are calling “obvious signs of trauma” Saturday afternoon.
Police said the 91-year-old man was found laying on the sidewalk with injuries to his chest in the area of Allan Street and Church Street in Oakville.
He later died of his injuries, police said. The victim has been identified as Edmund Ferrari of Oakville.
The incident is being treated as a suspicious death and the homicide unit has taken over the investigation, police said.
Additionally, police said they are looking to speak to a witness who may have been in the area at the time incident.
Police describe him as male, about 30-to-40-years-old, average build, shoulder-length hair, wearing a black top and black pants with a reflective stripe.
Police said he was seen driving a newer model 4-door black Volkswagen Golf. He drove southbound on Allan Street and then westbound on Lakeshore Road.
Investigators have not released any further information about the incident, however, they said there is no threat to public safety.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
