1 dead in Brampton shooting overnight

One person is dead after an overnight shooting in Brampton.
Emergency crews were called to the scene near Ridgeview Public School, in the Kingview Boulevard and Brenda Avenue area, just before 12:30 a.m. Friday.
Peel police said the victim, a male believed to be in his late teens or early twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There has been no word on a suspect or suspects.
The Peel District School Board said that, because of the police investigation, Ridgeview Public School will be closed to all students and staffs for the day. The child care program that runs out of the school will also be closed.
