Toronto police have released a security image of a suspect being sought for tossing a bucket of “liquefied fecal matter” on an unsuspecting person who was studying at York University’s Scott Library.

It happened on Sunday at around 5 p.m.

Police say a man entered the library carrying a bucket and dumped its contents on a person seated at a table.

It was determined that the bucket contained feces.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s with a medium build. He was wearing a black hat, blue top, light-coloured pants and black gloves.

A similar incident occurred at Robarts Library at U of T on Friday afternoon, and police are trying to determine if the two incidents are linked.

“We have reached out to the victim of the assault to offer support,” York University spokesperson Yanni Dagonas said in an email.

The school has launched its own investigation and is also working with Toronto police, Dagonas said.
