SIU investigating dramatic crash at Keele and Sheppard

The province’s Special Investigation’s Unit has been called in to investigate a multi-vehicle crash in north Toronto which sent two people to the hospital Saturday morning.
Police said they were called to the Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West area at around 10 a.m.
Ontario Provincial Police say a car with two occupants and a TTC bus were involved the crash.
Paramedics said they transported a man and woman to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Video from the scene showed a damaged bus and seriously damaged vehicle in the middle of the intersection. OPP vehicles, along with Toronto police cruisers, were also on the scene.
A statement released by the OPP said that “prior to the collision the vehicle was observed by a member of the OPP” without elaborating any further.
Both Toronto police and the OPP are subject to the SIU investigation, according OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.
