McDonald’s says it has closed one of its Toronto restaurants after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement issued to 680NEWS, McDonald’s Canada says an employee from the 552 Yonge Street location tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
That’s in the Church and Wellesley area.
“Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization by a certified third party. The restaurant has re-opened this morning (Nov. 5) and resumed regular business hours,” a spokesperson said.
“All crew members who may have been in close contact with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine until further information is available.
McDonald’s Canada says the employee last worked on Oct. 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“We continue to work with local health authorities to support our people and our guests, and look forward to getting back to serving our community as soon as we can,” McDonald’s Canada said.
